Coding without Codeine

"Why don't you write a blog application for the new Kava website instead of using Wordpress?", Richard said casually back in the summer. He does that sort of thing. Futile to think of competing with the world's most successful weblog software and its legion of developers but a simple blog should be do-able, I agreed. It would exercise the grey cells and could add to the Kava USP.
Several hundred lines of code later and here we are. It looks a treat thanks to Christine and Marie, is nifty thanks to the wonderful world of PHP and nippy thanks to some judicious cacheing. It'll change a bit - I'll tweak the mix of server-side and client-side scripting - but so far so good.

Minuscule jQuery script has replaced its PHP equivalent for the Show/Add–Hide Comments function.
